Dongara, just four hours drive from Perth is a friendly, relaxed town situated close to excellent beaches.

Another major attraction in Dongara is the Russ College. Built in the late 1860’s the Russ College is the last of the Yeoman’s cottages built during this period.  A visit to the old police station, which has now been transformed into the Irwin District museum, is also a must.

On the first Saturday of the month, the Priory Lodge holds their Monthly Markets. Set in the Priory gardens, locals sell their merchandise with plenty of arts and crafts.  The priory lodge also offers accommodation to backpackers interested in staying in Dongara.

During spring Dongara and Port Denison are ideal as a base from which to tour the magnificent wildflower country in the surrounding area.
