North of Perth, at about 120km is an area of the Coral Coastline collectively known as the Turquoise Coast. The Indian Ocean Drive runs from Lancelin through the towns of Cervantes, Jurien, Greenhead, Leeman, Dongara-Port Denison and Jurien Bay through to Lancelin. Jurien Bay Marine Park is a sanctuary for all marine life including the sea lions that characterize the place. The area has many attractions including farm stays, wild flowers, caves, rugged coastline and secluded beaches.
Jurien is situated 220km north of Perth. Jurien marks the beginning of the coastal road to Geraldton. Throughout the drive you will pass by many reefs and islands that provide great shelter for fishing and water sports.
The sister towns of Dongara and Port Denison are well distinguished due to their fig tree-lined streets and old buildings. The area is renowned for fishing and has great beaches that can be seen from Fisherman’s Lookout at Port Denison. While here take advantage of the Dongara Heritage Trail that takes you to each of the seventeen points of interest in Dongara.
