Local artists round out the GTM line up.
With just six days to go until GTM descends upon Bunbury for the second year running, we're pleased to announce the talented WA artists rounding out the line up.
After receiving bucketloads of entries from emerging WA bands, the Sonicbids spot has been awarded to young upstarts Seams. Known for fusing space-pop, acidic post-punk and lush psychedelia with a musical menagerie of instruments, Seams never fail to deliver an entertaining live show. Difficult to categorize and hard to ignore, the four friends from the Perth suburbs are on a quest to simply create great pop songs.
We're pleased to announce that local four-piece Juwana have been awarded the Groovin The Prince festival spot. Open to bands from the Bunbury and South West area, the Groovin The Prince winner has the pleasure of kicking off proceedings on the Moolin Rouge Big Top stage. Motivated by the epic song writing skills of their favourite bands to pick up their guitars and let their creative urge loose, Juwana are hoping to release their debut EP this year.
Following on from the inaugural festival last year, the local Bunbury community has once again heavily involved itself in the proceedings for GTM 2011. This year sees the return of the Mootown stage which proudly showcases some of the best DJ talent in the South West. The Mootown tent will be opened by Michael Canzirri, winner of the Under 18 City of Bunbury Bandit mash up, followed by Ragan Wood, winner of the Decibels Nightclub DJ search. The line-up is rounded out by DJ Steve (Steve Burgis), Sometimes Blake (Blake Marino), Chekrah (Chad Combes), House Junky, (Tim Woodward), Nate D (Nathan Doust), Jaspa, (Tony Worden), Timmy Torque (Tim Aquillina) and EMBAD (Baden McMillan). The Bunbury Youth Advisory Council (YAC) will be theming the Mootown tent, ensuring that their creative concepts are on display for the festival crowd to admire.
Tickets to Groovin the Moo are selling very fast and are available from www.moshtix.com.au, Moshtix outlets, and 1300 GET TIX.
