Perth girl Danni Ammon is set to release Everyword, the brilliant debut EP produced from her new musical project and partnership, Danni and the Lapels.Danni and the Lapels (Danni Ammon with friend and collaborator Salv di Cricito) are taking the big step into hard copy this month, after the final tweak and polish on debut EP Everyword. Produced over the last few months in Perth, the EP transports the duos folk roots to a wider fan-base with an injection of blues, pop and rock.
Everyword comprises five original tracks by Danni, recorded at Real2Reel Studios with James Newhouse. Atmospherically the songs are true heartfelt folk, the duo producing a sound both sweetly personal and highly accessible. Dannis voice is gentle, engaging and honest, and marries equally well with the soft guitar work and the energetic drum arrangements. The diversity of Danni and Salvs influences and the originality in their composition ensure that their music will have an equal attraction for fans of folk, pop and rock.
Danni Ammon cut her musical teeth co-founding accomplished WA band The Blue Finish in 2007 and progressed though her own solo performances, from weekly local gigs to some national supports. Everyword marks her transition into an artist proud of her influences and confident to use her experiences. Her music tells the small stories that make up the larger one, explores the moments that make up the memories. She finds inspiration most of all in the private exchanges and thoughts that we all have in common if we are brave enough to share them.
Gearing up for a busy few months, Danni and Lapels are proud of what they have produced. "Salv and I worked so hard and poured everything we had into these songs, which I believe you can feel when you listen to it", says Danni. This record is an exciting step for our music and we cant wait for people to hear it.
