Norseman

Discovered in 1894 Norseman was named after a horse. Norseman (the horse) pawed the ground uncovering a gold nugget which led to the discovery of one of the richest quartz reefs in Australia. Norseman is the last stop before Eucla and, then, the South Australian border.

Facilities available for travelers include toilets, barbeques and an Olympic sized swimming pool nearby for use in the hotter, summer months.

The town of Norseman is surrounded by dense bush land, with ancient rock outcrops and large salt lakes nearby. Norseman has breathtaking views, a stunning wildflower season, an interesting history and a laid back atmosphere.

A two kilometre drive from the town centre of Norseman brings you to Beacon Hill with spectacular panoramic views in every direction.

Accommodation at Norseman includes a hostel, motels and caravan park options.
