Pinnacles Tours
Pinnacles Tours are among the most popular day trips departing Perth, Western Australia. Also, many Western Australian extended tours north take in the Pinnacles Desert (Nambung National Park) as part of a complete package up to Monkey Mia, Ningaloo Reef, Karijini National Park and beyond.
The Pinnacles Desert is a unique sight to behold and a photographers dream - and you don't even have to be a capable photographer to capture a beautiful shot of these unworldly formations. Best times to view and photograph the Pinnacles desert are sunrise and sunset. Sunrises are particularly special as you can avoid crowds. To make the sunrise shift, it is good to arrive the day before and get some Cervantes accommodation - this way you can capture both the sunset and sunrise at the Pinnacles Desert yourself.
Less than 3 hours drive north of Perth, the Pinnacles Desert is one of Australia's most unique landscapes, with incredible limestone spiers rising out of the yellow sand - some are several metres tall. You can get up close to the Pinnacles on a scenic drive and walk trail that includes an amazing lookout over the Nambung National Park. The Pinnacles were created millions of years ago as seashells were broken down into sand and then eroded by water and wind.
